I've designed this rival character of golden boy. He's holding a giganic axes to fight and to control a robot. It was my last day at Starz once again as first short is completed. I could finish all my stuff and turn them in, and I could spare rest of my time to design this character at work. As I had drawn this charcter, it reminded me some old japanese printing art works. If you take a close look at his face, his expression and lines seem like it, which I did not intend to do, but turned out to be. Well! I've got six more characters to design for the golden boy trailer.

I reworked on the BG from yeserday to match the style and colors to golden boy character. I screenshoted the image of one of scenes. I'm planning to wrap this up by this week, and create a short trailer of it. Hope it turns out great.

I had a great opporunity today to pitch my show idea and series to executive producers from Fox and exectuvies from Starz. They gave an opportunity to everyone at Starz, to hear and find good ideas that can be lead to primetime show on Fox channel. I had this idea to pitch about mid-level skilled graphic designers working at small local studio company. I was extremely nervous head to toes, and through out whole time, I think I mumbled in front of them. No one was actually laughing or giving me a question, and as I go through the character descriptions, and story ideas, I felt I'm just dragging their time out. And even it was during a lunch hour!

But anyways, it was a great experience and learned a lot how to prepare and what to speak about from next time. I would like to leave my script of the story here at my blog. I hope you enjoy my story. Let me introduce you, a former graphic designer, Bryan Stuck and his coworker buddy, Dave.

Ext. Graphic Design Studio

Small old building of Graphic Design Studio on the hill with the beautiful ocean view is alone under the domination of big shadow from Ocean Theme Park behind. White box car drives into parking lot.

[Seq.1]

Int. Graphic Design Studio, Bryan and Dave's workstation

Dave is working quietly with the headphone set on in front of his laptop. Dave's desk is empty except the computer. Bryan's desk in front of Dave, is filled with sketched notes, post-its, markers, tablet, apple's 20 inch wide screen, some old toys, and some cool looking concept car design posters attached on the wall.

Bryan enters in with the STARBUCKS coffee and the black portfolio book. He sits down on his chair, and grasps a moment. Dave does not pay attention to Bryan, and continues typing the keyboard quietly.

Bryan quickly begins to pray as he bows down his head, closes his eyes, and puts his hands together. He whispers fast.

Bryan
Dear God. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to work here at the studio again today. I hope that your purpose fulfills as you bless me and enlarge my territory...

Suddenly, dolphin noise is coming along. Bryan stops his prayer and opens his one eye, and curiously rolls his eye ball to see where the sound is coming from.. The dolphin sound stops.

Bryan prays back again.

Bryan
Dear God. I'm so sorry about opening my eyes during a prayer. I just had to open my eye because... I hear this dolphin noises...

The dolphin noise comes along once again louder this time. It gets louder and louder in some repetitive rhythm. Bryan opens his both eyes this time, and look around suspiciously. The dolphin sound stops. Bryan waits for a bit, and closes his eyes to pray again. The dolphin noise starts to sound again. Bryan quickly reopens his eyes and looks around strangely.

Bryan
Pshee! Dave!

Dave does not notice.

Bryan
Hey! Dave! Dave!!

Dave
Yeah? What?

Dave takes off his headphone-set.

Bryan
Do you hear that?

Dolphins sound continues.

Dave
Oh~ this sound? Yeah, it's coming from our neighbor next door, ocean world theme park. This wall is right next to their new pool that is designed for the dolphins to get rest during the break, and night.

Dave taps onto the wall next to their workstation. Bryan is annoyed by loud noises from the dolphins outside.

Bryan
Jeez~ They must be having some fun down there in the pool. They're so freaking loud.

Dave nods.

Dave
Yup. They keep making out, every break time between the shows.

Bryan
What?!

Dave
I've been researching this dolphin sound in communication matter and I've found out this very interesting fact "that".. did you know Dolphins actually make out with each other for a pleasure purpose like we, humans do?

Bryan
What? Where did you get that from?

Dave
Yeah, True. They are the one another kind of species other than human, that desires to make out for their own pleasure feeling. I've been comparing their noises with this sound.

Dave pulls off his headphone jack from the PC speaker. A repetitive sound of moaning from some adult video comes out from the speakers. Bryan is shocked and unexpectedly hears the two noises. Both noises match perfectly together in one rhythm and tone. Dave turns off the speaker.
Dave
See. Now you know what I'm talking about. They constantly make out during breaks even if it's only five minute break.

Bryan suspiciously looks at Dave.

Bryan
Hey~ you don't watch adult videos at work here, do you?

Dave
Oh this sound file? No. It's from my iPod. These days, I listen to it everyday for this research project. First, I had to convert it into sound file from my video collection.

Bryan
You know... that's not good for your mental health or ears, Dave. You should stop it. No one forced you to research on.. that kind of stuff.

Dave
Why not? Even librarians didn't care!

Bryan surprises.

Bryan
What? You even watched that at school library?

Dave
Duh! Then where do you go to research? and technically.. it was a public library.

Int. Public Library

Over Dave's shoulder, using a public library computer, some kids are frozen, standing and watching Dave's monitor ridiculously.

A little girl
... Mom?

Dave
They all liked me!

Bryan
Oh God.. you know what? Just.. just don't tell it to other people here at work. I'll keep it low for you.

Dave
Well.. I don't care. Hey, you wanna come to my next experiment? I'm gonna test those dolphins with these, whether they choose to have this food, or not, while they make out with each other.

Dave holds up a fishing rod and a bucket of small fish.

Bryan
No.. I don't want to. I don't wanna stare at dolphins having a ... ewwww?

Dave
Hey~ I'll catch you some other fish from other pool tanks next to it. I know you love Sashimi! and Sushi!

Bryan
Well... (thinking) make it hurry.

[Seq.4]

Ext. Roof of Graphic Design Studio.

On the roof of Graphic Design studio, Bryan and Dave are sitting on the chair, looking over at the pools under, and fishing. The new pool containing dolphins are right under the building, fenced out. The noises of dolphins are loud like penguins. Bryan backs up with covering his eyes with one hand.

Bryan
Woo! I didn't see that coming.

Dave
Ha ha! Ha ha! They are eating it! See? They are eating it!

Bryan
Woo.. Gosh. Dude, now you are done. Let's get some other fish before we get caught.

Dave
Oh wait.. Shoot! I think that dolphin is hooked on my hook!

Bryan
What? I can't eat dolphins?

Both of Bryan and Dave stand up, and Dave is pulling his fishing rod strongly.

I'm back to Starz Media now. I've got involved in this Starz's shorts project for Seth (the director from Slacker Cats) For a first time, I guess I professionally built and rigged the character in flash myself, and just began animating this week.

I don't really have any stuff to blog it here these day. When I come home, usually I work on my stuff, but lately I haven't really got any thing to show. I just began to write this new story about this rich and selfish but very highly skilled jr.high school tetherball player, and his continuously 89 times beaten down loser tetherball team in 2050, Amercian Championship , Tetherball League.

I also roughly designed some characters in line up, and one of them is above picture, Enok. I'll post up some more as I work on it.

SpaceBalls

Yes. I've got this freelance job on Spaceballs Project.

They are making it as an animated series for G4 channel.

I'm having fun with it these day when I'm on time off from full-time job work.

Hey! I've completed this clip of animation, 'Riceball Robert.' He is a main character from my show idea. You might think he's dead in that clip of video, but HE'S NOT. Here's a theory. Since he is made out of rices put together, even his head is little torned apart, or in the future, his arm or legs may be chopped off by any chance, DON'T WORRY! because it's just rices scattered off from his body, which happens quite often for him. He can just attach rices again onto his head, and he will be just fine as before. =)

I'll put myself to work on other two characters, Soo and Eddie. I'll keep post stuff up here as I progress.

I'm working on a short clip of animation with this character above, Robert who is supposed to be a riceball. It is an idea that I would like to pitch around someday with that character and some other Sushi friends of him together. While I'm working on it, I realized once again that I'm terrible at cleaning up the lines in Flash. oh Gosh.. haha. But I'm trying my best to set up the character and library, hopely animation will turn out all right. As soon as I'm done with it, I'll post it up here again.

Hey! Golden Boy is back!

It was stopped right after my company took away my cintiq at work

because I wasn't sure if I could keep it going without my cintiq.

All the detailed line works and shapes were able to be done b/c of cintiq.

Now, I've got my own Cintiq at home, I just have started to work on it and

move forward the process.

I hope to present it as soon as possible.
